About us

Built on Experience & Trust

Neal Nugent Electrical & Solar began as a local, family-owned business with a focus on reliable, future-focused energy solutions for regional communities. With Neal starting his electrical career in 2003 and establishing the business in 2009, we’ve built our reputation through communication, trust and strong word-of-mouth relationships.

Today, we support homeowners, rural properties and businesses with general electrical work, Level 2 services, split system air-conditioning, and tailored solar, battery and off-grid systems. We stay honest and down-to-earth, with clear recommendations, transparent quotes, and education at handover, backed by ongoing aftercare and support.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Mains Power or Off-Grid?

We help you compare usage, costs and location to choose the right connection option.

If you’re deciding between mains power and a stand-alone solar system, we can help you work it out. We ask a few quick questions to understand your expected power usage, then review site factors that affect the best option. We also have access to Essential Energy network maps to help determine the nearest power, so you can make an informed decision.

Level 2 work often needs approvals; we guide you through the steps and timing.

New mains power connections can take over a month, depending on approvals and scheduling. You’ll typically need to obtain an NMI number and receive approval from Essential Energy before works can start. As an authorised Level 2 ‘A Grade’ Installer, we can help you understand the steps and support you through the connection process.

Yes—grid connect or stand-alone, with options matched to your property and goals.

Yes. We install batteries for both grid connected systems and stand-alone systems, and we can supply a wide range of options to suit different applications. If you’re aiming to reduce power bills, improve backup capability or support an off-grid setup, we’ll recommend a battery solution that fits your system design and energy needs.

As an authorised Level 2 provider, we handle overhead and underground works safely.

Yes. We perform overhead and underground Level 2 works, including defect rectifications on private poles, plus disconnections and reconnections where required. We also specialise in private pole replacements and use the right machinery, including excavators and a crane truck, to complete the work efficiently and safely. We can assist with new property connections when power is required.
